A Little History


Golden Oldies Street Rod Association is a member club of the NSRA (National Street Rod Association). We are a 501(c)4 Corporation.



Club Stated OBJECTIVES:


To promote interest in various forms of street rodding activity.

To create good fellowship and sportsmanship among all members of the club.

To uphold the principles of good government.

To conduct club functions and activities in a manner befitting members of street rodding sport and to encourage a better understanding of street rodding as a constructive sport among members of the public, press, and law enforcement agencies. In order to uphold this objective, no beer, alcoholic beverages, or illegal use of drugs will be allowed at any club functions

To promote safety and education in driving, automobile maintenance, and overall vehicle construction and operation.

To be involved with, and give back to the local community by organizing car shows and other events for charitable causes is the true nature of the entire organization.



Golden Oldies Original charter is dated April 16, 1974. The club was formed in the Nitro West Virginia area. Over the years, as members have come and gone the club has become centered more in the Elk River area. We have club members from Weston,West Virginia to Racine, Ohio from Madison, West Virginia to Summersville, West Virginia and all points in between.


Membership eligibility requires ownership of a pre-1949 automobile and an interest in street rod activities, sponsorship by a current member in good standing, submittal of a membership application, and attending three meetings or club activities prior to a membership vote. Election to membership requires a unanimous affirmative vote of all members casting ballots. Current annual dues are twenty-four dollars ($24.00) and are payable after the membership vote. Annual membership in the NSRA is provided by the club for all members in good standing.


Golden Oldies is a small club as far as the number of members. Today we have about 15 members.
